UC Davis student planning to live in Woodland - any suggestions, advice, comments? Any pros and cons? Thanks!?

I live in Woodland, Ca. No, it is fairly easy for you to drive from Woodland to Davis. It's only a 10 minute drive if you take SR 113 (between I-5 & I-80), on the other hand you can take Yolo bus to UC Davis, because we all know how terrible parking is there! lol. I have lived in Woodland my whole life and personally I like it a lot. Yeah it is not a very rich town like Davis, but I believe it is a nice place to live. The people here are your average small town local schmocal folk and I have met so many kind and friendly people here over the years. A lot of people from Davis, Natomas, and surrounding areas come out to shop in Woodland as well. It's not unusual for students to live here and make the short commute to UC Davis. I think you are very smart for considering a cheaper option, although it is a nice little town, Davis is a very expensive place to live for students on a fixed income. I wish you luck at UC Davis as well as searching for a place! :)
