Why didnt the Ming Dynasty of China take over the Old World when it had a chance?

Not enough man power. Plus, the bigger the empire, the more borders you have to protect. Eventually, they wouldhave crumpled like a house of cards. In a very simple way, this was one of the reasons for the Roman empire falling into pieces.
