Is it disrespectful to wear BDUs?

I always found it disrespectful to wear BDUs/DCUs/etc unless you're actually in the Military. Saw some girl the other day who had USAF E-4 stripes on her sleeves, and I asked her if she was Air Force, but nope, she just liked the way it looked.
