Is the LA metro orange line safe?

i have an internship in LA coming up and i don't think my dad will be able to help me out on renting a vehicle so i am starting to consider public transportation. i will be trying to get from woodland hills to glendale which will take about an hour and a half. any suggestions concerning the public transit in LA? thanks.
